Franklin County Board of developmental disabilities

Children and adults of all ages who have developmental disabilities and who qualify under standards established by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities are eligible for services. For additional information, go to fcbdd.org.  

What is a developmental disability?

A developmental disability is defined by FCBDD as a severe, chronic disability that is characterized by all of the following:

• Is likely to continue indefinitely
• Appears before the age of 22
• Is derived by a mental or physical impairment or a combination of both
• Requires care, treatment or provision of services for an extended period of time.
